Most of the animals had a far-away look in their eyes. Hard to be zoo-bound, but at the same time, many of the animals were rescued from unhappy lives, with the alternative being death.

The dark spot is a tumour, this Alaskan brown bear isn't fairing well, the zoo is trying everything they can.
