2001 was the year we put our effort and budget into building a comfortable backyard environment. We installed 9 new semi-mature trees, designed and prepared plant beds, planted dozens of plants(60 or so), and then outfitted the area with numerous knick-knacks. We also had a custom deck built.

2002 is the year we finally do some upgrades to the interior of the house. Our house turns 5 years of age in 2002. The paint is original builder's paint. As we had very little time to plan colours when we purchased the house, we had the whole place done in an off-white. Now we try something Completely Different(Multi-colours, Ragging effects, and more!).

We've had a painter in to give us cost estimates, and to help us with our colour and texture choice. Painting was completed on 08 February.

We also decided to replace the carpeting in the family and living rooms with hardwood flooring. We went with 3/4", 3 1/4" width, white oak done in a cherry stain. Install of the flooring was completed on 29 January.
